At Weller Metalworks, Manufacturing Month isn’t just about recognizing the products we create, it’s about celebrating the people who make it all possible and the future of our industry. This year, we’re proud to highlight one of our own: Kimberly Wimer, whose story is a testament to the power of dedication, growth, and advocacy in manufacturing.
A Journey of Growth and Leadership
Kim began her career with us nine years ago at Laser Precision and has since continued her journey with Weller Metalworks. Over the years, she’s proven to be a leader in the industry by constantly pushing boundaries, seeking out opportunities to learn, and championing others along the way. Her passion for developing the next generation of talent is at the heart of her work, and it reflects the culture we value at Weller: innovation, mentorship, and community impact.
Driving Industry Awareness
Beyond her role at Weller Metalworks, Kim is committed to expanding awareness of the opportunities that exist within manufacturing. She actively collaborates with organizations that strengthen the workforce and connect future talent to meaningful careers.
Her involvement includes:
• Lake County Partners
• SparkForce, The FMA Foundation
• College of Lake County Manufacturing Alliance
• Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA)
• Lake County Workforce Development Board
• Lake County Regional Office of Education 34
Through these partnerships, Kim not only represents Weller Metalworks but also serves as a voice for the broader manufacturing community and is helping to bridge the gap between today’s workforce and tomorrow’s leaders.
Building the Future of Manufacturing
At Weller Metalworks, we believe supporting growth in the manufacturing industry means more than producing high-quality work. It means investing in people. Leaders like Kim embody this vision by inspiring students, mentoring young professionals, and ensuring that manufacturing continues to thrive as a vital part of our economy.
As we celebrate Manufacturing Month, we’re reminded that our industry’s future depends on passionate advocates and dedicated teams. We’re proud of Kim’s impact and grateful to have her as part of the Weller family.
Here’s to building stronger communities, empowering the next generation, and continuing to make manufacturing a career path full of opportunity.
